Conversations of Portraiture

Windsor artist Yuki Horikawa offers an intimate glimpse into his subject’s inner lives by capturing their posture, expression, and clothing through the complex layered color of pastels. In contrast, Louisiana artist Vitus Shell’s large-scale mixed-media collage portraits are geared toward the black experience, giving agency through powerful images; deconstructing, sampling, and remixing identity, civil rights, and contemporary black culture.

Under Pressure: 2024 National Printmaking Exhibition

Part of Colorado’s Month of Printmaking (Mo’Print), Under Pressure is a nationally juried exhibit of work by 32 artists consisting primarily of any printmaking media (relief printing, lithograph, silkscreen, intaglio, and monoprints). MO’Print is a celebration of the art of making original prints to inspire, educate, and promote awareness through a variety of public events and exhibitions in Denver, the Front Range, and throughout Colorado.
