A Little Princess

This performance has passed. Please see some of our upcoming shows below.

Orphaned and alone in an attic, optimistic Sara Crewe suffers the bleak conformity of “Miss Minchin’s School for Girl’s”:  A cold and colorless place where young ladies are expected to be prim and proper and dreams are unwelcome.  Into this space comes a maidservant, a monkey and a mysterious stranger who may hold the secret that could change Sara’s life.

Raised a child of privilege in exotic India, Sara finds herself sent for schooling in 1900’s London, England.  Imaginative and determined, Sara’s tales of fantasy, and kindness towards others wins her the friendship of her classmates, but the displeasure of the school’s cruel headmistress. Beloved of the servants, she is unaware that she soon will stand among them after receiving some devastating news.  Yet, when all is lost, she still finds a way to give more.

Frances Hodgson Brunette’s classic, A Little Princes tells a timeless message of believing in hope, friendship, stories, generosity and the power of staying positive even when things are at their darkest.  Its message of acceptance and generosity rings as clear today as it did 110 year ago.
