Show Description

One of the world’s most beloved characters is reimagined and brought to life in this musical adaptation of Nickelodeon’s long-running animated children’s sitcom. SpongeBob, the ever-optimistic yellow sea sponge, and his equally quirky Bikini Bottom friends have their pleasant existence abruptly interrupted when Mt. Humongous, a nearby volcano, is about to erupt and obliterate Bikini Bottom. They face catastrophe and lose hope until a most unexpected hero rises to take center stage to prove he is not just a “simple sponge.”

The bold, original musical celebrates friendship, cooperation, and the power of unity and inclusion, featuring an eclectic score of music. A different musical artist wrote each song with the purpose of recreating the type of musical hodgepodge exhibited by the original television series.

The production is fun, family-friendly, and a timeless story of identity, crisis, and community. The witty allegory examines and critiques the politics of the modern era in such a way that children will appreciate and understand the plot line, while adults can read between the lines and extract a deeper message. The power of optimism really can save the world.
This show features a cast of talented adults who will create a Broadway-quality musical experience for children and families to enjoy!
