School may be starting, but there’s still time for SUMMER BREAK, the ultimate summer camp experience—minus the poison ivy and homesickness! On Saturday, September 13, FoCO POP invites you to grab your marshmallow sticks, dust off your fanny packs, and head to Edora Park for two 30-minute, gravity-defying, free season finale performances by Canadian-based circus troupe Cirque FLIP Fabrique.
FoCo POP (short for Parks and Outdoor Performances) kicked off in June with the Grammy Award-winning Okee Dokee Brothers drawing an audience of over 500 people at Library Park. The fun continued at six more Fort Collins parks when The Concert Truck, featuring artists Susan Zhang and Reiko Tsuchida, dazzled nearly 700 community members during a week-long residency in July. Now, it’s time to get camp-fired up for FoCo POP’s high-flying grand finale at the west side of Edora Park.
A throwback to summer camps of the ’70s and ‘80s, SUMMER BREAK is a nostalgic nod to the magical mayhem of childhood summers. Complete with jaw-dropping acrobatic feats, aerial antics, and trampoline shenanigans, this high-energy circus show transforms a school bus stage into a campground full of hilarious hijinks. Picture a cast of summer campers and counselors who juggle, flip, tumble, and fly through the air like mosquitoes in August—now multiply that by ten and add tube socks. It’s part nostalgia, part athletic awesomeness, and 100% summer camp magic!
The first performance launches at 4 p.m. and is repeated at 6 p.m. Both shows are free and open to all—no tickets, no assigned seating. Remember to pack your s’mores or other snacks, grab a camp chair or sleeping bag to sit on, and head to the west end of Edora Park. We’ll meet you on the hill below Riffenburgh Elementary for a perfect view, no matter where you sit. This all-ages show is fun for the whole family. We can’t wait to see you at FoCo POP’s season finale; it’s going to be wilder than a Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper!
