A Holiday Gift from Jim Brickman

Don’t expect a boring recital or a stuffy piano concert when Jim Brickman, the acclaimed songwriter and best-selling solo pianist, takes The Lincoln Center stage on Saturday, November 30 for his highly anticipated holiday concert.

“People who haven’t seen me before are always surprised by my conversational style, the stories that I share and the humor in the show,” says Brickman. However unexpected his on-stage style may be, the one thing concertgoers should expect is to be moved. “Of course, the music is emotional,” Brickman notes, “we’re celebrating Comfort and Joy.”

Brickman has earned two GRAMMY nominations and sold more than 8 million albums worldwide. Four of Brickman’s albums have gone gold and 16 of his songs have made the top 10 on the Adult Contemporary charts.

“I love to play the hit songs I know people are coming for like “Love of My Life,” “Valentine” and my holiday songs like “The Gift” to kick off the holidays,” says Brickman. With Brickman excited to invite audiences to embrace the joy and warmth of the holiday season, we asked about his favorite moment in the show.

“I love the sing-along with the audience. We do a group version of “The Gift” and then we record that from the show and send everyone a free copy of the performance.” There is something special about that gesture. It’s as if Brickman will be gifting concertgoers a lasting memory of the show.

Saturday’s concert will also feature guest vocalist John Trones. “John has become a fan favorite over the years,” remarks Brickman. “His beautiful tenor voice and charming stage presence bring a wonderful spirit to the show. He’s also a very funny guy and a great foil for my sense of humor.”

Brickman is excited to return to Fort Collins where he continues his own unique annual holiday tradition. “I’ve been celebrating the holidays on my Christmas tour for 27 years,” says Brickman. “My tradition is gathering with friends and fans all over the country sharing holiday cheer and special musical joy. The fans in Colorado have always been so supportive of me and my music. I’m thankful that they return, knowing how much they’ll enjoy the show.”
