Frequently Asked Questions – Streaming

You can stream to any device that has access to the internet and a web browser (Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox).

The ability to cast to your smart TV depends on your setup. Because of the variety of different setups, The Lincoln Center cannot guarantee that you will be able to cast from your web browser to your smart TV.

Certain adware blockers and other types of blockers can interfere with streaming events. Turning off these blockers before the stream could help. If you are using a VPN you may also experience an issue with the stream validating that you are accessing the stream correctly. This impacts some VPN providers but not all, so if you are seeing an issue, please disconnect from your stream to see if that allows you access.

Try switching the browser you are using to Chrome. Sometimes the stream loads more slowly in Safari and Internet Explorer, but opening the stream in a different web browser, like Chrome, may help. Just be sure to log out of your account and close out of the existing stream window before you try to open the Stream in a new browsing window. The stream will not work if you have it open in multiple windows at once.

You can log in well before the stream begins, but the actual stream will not be visible until 30 minutes prior to the performance. The stream launch button will go live once the stream has started.

Yes, as long as you’re logging in from the same computer or device.

If you have the stream paused for less than 5 minutes you will be able to restart it at the point that you paused the stream.

We would recommend pausing the stream for 30 seconds to a minute to allow a buffer to build up on your device to keep the stream from being interrupted from any slowness with your network.
