Show Description

Join us for a modern-day restaging of the beloved ballet Sleeping Beauty, a tale of
resilience and courage in the 21st Century. Aurora, a school-age girl in the early 2000’s is a
high achieving, well loved young lady with devoted and adoring parents. Despite her kind
and compassionate nature, a jealous classmate circulates a rumor about Aurora on social
media. She falls into a deep depression. Can her closest friends and family bring her out of
it? Will she make amends with the jealous rumormonger?
A blend of the time-treasured Petipa choreography with new choreography by Director
Ixchel Levendosky showcases the talents of this cast of amateur to professional-level
dancers and tells the story of Sleeping Beauty in our current era with cell phones and all!
